Iowa Wesleyan Archives
Room #8
Located on the bottom floor of the 1953 addition to the former Saunders School building.
Iowa Wesleyan University closed its doors for good in May of 2023, after being open for 181 years. Henry County Heritage Trust stepped up and took over 80% of the collections formerly housed in the archives of the old Chadwick Library, as well as pictures, trophies, and other items from all over the campus.
One year later, to the month, the Iowa Wesleyan Archives Room was opened, featuring a hybrid of archives and displays. The archives contains over 10,000 items related to the history and people that made Iowa Wesleyan the institution and staple it was for nearly two centuries. This includes: letter jackets, sports uniforms, alumni records, complete collections of student publications (such as the Croakers, Purple and White's, and The Bulletin), the A.M. Wettach photo collection, faculty files, music concert programs, class directories, all things related to Greek life on campus, and so much more.
